Popular Watches under $1000

1.TX 650 GT Flyback Chronograph

The TX 650 GT Flyback chronograph is one of TX watch's new 2010 timepieces, it is just starting to hit stores in the US this month. The version shown is features a PVD treated stainless steel case, with rose gold accents. The quartz movements are designed by TX, and feature 6 motors, which run the time, 2nd time zone a flyback chronograph and a date wheel. The quality to value ratio on this watch is excellent.-www.txwatches.com-

2.Magrette Moana Pacific Diver

The Magrette Moana Pacific Diver is powered by a reliable Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic mechanical movement, and is capable of diving 500 meters (1650 ft). It comes with a nice 24 mm wide strap made of black leather, with a red colored backing and red contrast stitching. It even comes with an additional rubber strap. It looks a lot like a Panerai, without the high price. The date function (available on the Miyota 8215) has been purposely omitted, to make the dial more clean, a great design element in my opinion.-www.magrette.com-

3.Reactor Never Dark Trident

The Reactor Trident Never Dark timepiece is a very rugged watch. It features a stainless case coated with a hard black Nitride coating, which resists scratches. The bracelet or strap, in this case a strap, are screwed directly into the lugs, for what Reactor claims to be a 500% to 800% stronger setup, than a the traditional spring bar attached configuration.

4.Xetum Stinson

The Stinson Swiss automatic timepiece is all about the basics. A sweep second hand powered by an ETA Swiss automatic watch movement glides effortlessly around the minimalist dial. For those who appreciate uncluttered functionality and design, the Stinson represents timekeeping at its most fundamental level.-www.xetum.com-

5.Stowa Flieger Pilot B-Uhr

The Stowa Flieger B-Uhr is one of the most popular German pilot watches. The feature set is very good for your money. An ETA 2824 automatic swiss movement, visible through a sapphire caseback, powers the watch. The sapphire crystal on the front is double anti-reflective. This watch is available with or without the logo (with the logo it is even cheaper). I cannot think of another mechanical watch that has this level or features and heritage for such a low price.-www.stowa.com-

6.Stowa Marine Automatik A10 with date

The Stowa Marine Automatik Marine Date is brand new, and will not be available until September. It features a newly procured A10 mechanical movement, visible through a sapphire caseback. The dial is more traditional and classic than the Flieger pictures above. And it does not have any luminous paint, for night time viewing. However, it does feature a 925/000 Sterling silver dial with blued hands. It looks amazing, and best of all, it's under a grand.-www.stowa.com-

7.Casio Aviation Concept G-Shock

This is Casio's newly introduced Casio Aviation Concept G-shock watch. It is part of the Classic collection, but features a totally new design. It is a solar powered quartz, with 6-band atomic timekeeping. It features a steel case, as opposed to the traditional G-Shock resin cases. It has been tested at 12 Gs of force, so it is incredibly shock-resistant, even more so than the traditional G-Shock. -www.gshock.com-

8.Victorinox Dive Master 500 Mecha

Victorinox recently introduced this newer version, called Black Ice, to their Dive Master 500 Mecha line. For the money, and quality, this watch has a stainless steel PVD case, automatic movement, 1650 feet (500m) water-resistance and sapphire caseback. It is a great value, especially considering it is all Swiss.   -www.victorinox.com-

9.Nooka Zenv

The Nooka Zenv, and really all the Nooka watches, are very modern and feature a unique way of telling the time. Boxes fill in for the hours, and lines fill in for minutes and seconds. The case is stainless steel. The strap is ultra-wide, at 28 mm, which is good if you like wider straps, which I clearly do. The retrograde vertical digital display, coupled with a sub $300 price, really makes this a great choice.

10.Casio X-Large G-Shock Ana-Digi Classic

This is the newest classic G-Shock timepiece. It looks much like the iconic X-Large Classic G-shock, except it features cool skeletonized analog hour and minute hands, which look really cool by the way. The watch shown is the all black model, and it should be arriving in stores this month. Some other colors are already available in stores and online now. -www.gshock.com-

11.Victorinox Black Ice Chronograph

Like the Dive Master, featured above, this is an all Swiss timepiece (except this one uses quartz). Plus this has a chronograph. Overall, another excellent value, especially considering it is under $700. Dive Master 500 Chronograph.-www.victorinox.com-

13.MTM Night Ops Vulture w/Ballistic Strap

The MTM Night Ops Vulture is a tool watch designed specifically for military and police use. It features an auxiliary lighting system which allows you to switch between LED modes and a cool UV light mode (with a separate USB rechargeable battery for the light system). It also has traditional luminous paint and a long-life lithium battery for time-keeping. It is very large at 48 mm, but this makes it easier to use when you have gloves on. The movement is Swiss quartz.
